CLAG Student Travel Grants 2025-26 - Due September 15 2025
The Conference of Latin American Geography invites applications for the CLAG Travel Grants to support student travel to CLAG 2026 Meeting in Puerto Vallarta. CLAG will offer a limited number of travel grants to students of approximately $500 in support of attendance.
Eligibility
- Enrolled in a graduate program (or ABD)
- Members of CLAG before the application deadline
- Registered for CLAG Puerto Vallarta 2025 (at time of application)
- Will be presenting a paper in person--priority will be given to students presenting research (even if preliminary) over proposals
- Complete the application as described below
Application Guidelines
Before submitting your application please be sure to have:
- Proof of membership for CLAG 2026 (pdf of receipt - YourLastName_CLAG_2025-26_Membership.pdf).
- Extended abstract (800 to 1,000 words) summarizing the research to be presented at CLAG Puerto Vallarta 2026. Abstracts will be evaluated on criteria including but not limited to the following:
- Potential impact or contribution of the research
- Originality of the research question, topical area, and/or methodology
- Clarity of the argument and writing
- Adherence to application guidelines

Application materials may be in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
Submission
All applications should be submitted via this google form no later than September 15th 2025. A selection committee will review all applications and make a recommendation to the Student Grants committee chair. Awardees will be notified by mid-October and we expect that electronic payment (by ACH) will be made shortly after. Awardees will be formally recognized at the meeting in Puerto Vallarta and on the CLAG website.
